Tommy didn’t start out in real estate. He used to own a chain of dry cleaners and laundries in the Austin area. In those days he cut his own radio and TV commercials and was widely recognized through his advertising. In 1973 Tommy sold his interest in this business to go into residential real estate. Because his name and face were known from being on TV, he was very successful. He was a builder, broker, and lender, and also worked onsite for David Weekley Homes before he decided to go into the title industry in 2000.
Tommy worked for a few other title companies before joining Capital Title in 2012. He has worked from the Capital Title - Austin Northwest office ever since then.
Tommy loves people and they know that he cares about them. It thrills him to help them succeed in every aspect of their lives. He is super-organized and when he puts on events, people appreciate the order of the event and that it always goes smoothly. If he can’t bring “value” then he just doesn’t do things.
Tommy was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin where he modestly says that his only claim to fame came as a player in Junior Legion Baseball (ages 16-18) where he was the Outstanding Player in the state of Wisconsin. After graduation from high school, Tommy moved to the Texas Rio Grande Valley where he attended Pan American College (now UT Rio Grande) for two years before heading up to Austin to finish at UT with a Business degree in Personnel Management (what is now Human Resources).
Passionate about helping people get where they want to go, Tommy has generously mentored co-workers, clients, and potential clients and always shares what has been successful for him. He doesn’t tell them that they should do something because he did, he just lets them pick his brain. Just being able to help people excites Tommy to no end because he loves it so much.
Tommy’s other passion is playing golf. He takes a lot of clients to play golf and a lot of his business comes from golfers. So, if you need to find Tommy, look for him at the golf course.
