Chris is the Client Services Counsel for Capital Title of Texas. He provides legal support, education, and training to Capital Title’s employees and clients throughout Texas.
Before joining Capital Title, Chris was employed by a local title agency as the Texas general counsel. Before moving into a title role, Chris worked for a national title agency as general counsel and before that role in multiple different areas within real estate both inside and outside of Texas. A few of these roles were as a shareholder/member of the real estate law firm Newman & Lawler, PLLC in Fort Worth, as an associate at Goldman Sachs, as general counsel at the Addison law firm Barrett Daffin Frappier Turner and Engel, and out of state at the law firm Feiwell & Hannoy in Indianapolis.
Chris is a frequent instructor of Texas Real Estate Commission CE courses as well as custom training for employees and brokers/sales agents. Chris is currently admitted to practice law in Texas, California, Kansas, and Indiana. Born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Chris proudly served in the United States military and worked in law enforcement before earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Amberton University, cum laude, in Garland and his Juris Doctorate from Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis.
Chris has served many years on various local boards and commissions and was most recently appointed to serve on the Town of Flower Mound’s Veterans Liaison Board as the Place 3 member in 2021. He has also served on various Texas Land Title Association groups in the past and is currently serving on the Institute Committee, Title School Committee, PAC Board, and TREC Advisory Group. Chris is married to his beautiful bride, Star, and is a proud father to two wonderful children, Liam and Gabriela.
