Scenic Houston Honors Carroll Shaddock

The 2023 Annual Dinner Co-Chairs included Murry Bowden, Richard Everett, John Moody, and Tom Simmons, they were joined by Scenic Houston Board Chair Bill Odle and Scenic Houston Executive Director Andrea French in sharing words of appreciation and accolades for David & Carroll’s work and influence.

The late Carroll Shaddock volunteered his time and energy for many years to improve the beauty of urban communities. He helped form Trees For Houston in 1983 which resulted in the planting and care of over 600,000 trees. Carroll also founded Billboards Limited, which succeeded in banning all new billboards in the city in 1980, and eventually evolved into the Scenic Houston known today.

The impact our honorees have had in Houston will leave a lasting legacy for all. Scenic Houston was honored to present David Wolff with the 2023 Scenic Visionary Award and Carroll with the 2023 Scenic Hero Award.
