A native Texan, Billy Vaughn was born on the Fourth of July in Lufkin, deep in the heart of East Texas. He earned his business degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, served in the U.S. Army during the 1950s, and has devoted more than 50 years of his professional life to the title insurance industry.
Throughout his distinguished career, Billy has held senior leadership positions with several title agencies and served as president of a major national title underwriter. His leadership experience extends beyond the title industry, having served on the boards of numerous corporations and charitable organizations. Among them is the Plano-based Hendrick Scholarship Foundation, which provides scholarships and college success support to students facing financial and personal challenges.
Billy has also been deeply involved in organizations serving the real estate and lending industries. He has been active with the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association and received the organization’s Distinguished Award in 1996. His longtime involvement with the Texas Land Title Association was recognized in 2010 when he was named an Honorary Member. He has also served on the National Housing Roundtable.
Widely respected for his industry knowledge and insight, Billy has spoken to audiences across the country on sales, motivation, economic analysis, and forecasting.
For Billy, the title industry is also a family tradition. Three generations of the Vaughn family—including Billy, his daughter, and his granddaughter—have built careers in the business.
“It is exciting to be part of Capital Title and its great, happy staff that is dedicated to serving the real estate and lending community all across Texas,” Billy said.
