At Capital Title, we believe that educating and equipping our staff with the knowledge and confidence to succeed is paramount to our success. That is why we have started the Escrow Officer Training Program, which accomplishes exactly that.
In our industry, there’s often a gap between assisting with transactions and being ready to lead them independently. This program closes that gap by offering structured education, mentorship, and real-world application.
Our first round of graduates are almost through with a year of training within the program, driven by Allison Mayo, Capital Title’s VicePresident of Escrow Growth & Development.
To gain a deeper understanding of the experience, we interviewed folks from the first graduating class to hear their individual accounts of what the program provided to them.
Today, we are highlighting the experience of Breanna Withers, an Escrow Assistant from the Capital Title Kingwood office.
Q: Before starting the program, what career goals did you have in mind?
A: My goal was to learn more about why we do what we do – the ins and outs of title. I wanted to acquire as much knowledge as possible so that I could ultimately become a well-rounded escrow officer able to assist our clients in every aspect of a transaction.
Q: Are there any notable memories from your time within the program?
A: Getting together in person and sharing our work and personal experiences.
Q: What sort of real-world experience have you gathered from the program?
A: Customer service is the key to success.
Q: Since starting the program, what sort of achievements would you like to share with us as a result?
A: I am working up more closing disclosures and HUDs as well as performing closings.
Q: If you could only choose one, what would be the most important thing you learned from the program?
A: I learned to be more confident in myself.
Q: What advice would you give to others starting the program?
A: Take good notes and make the effort to apply what you learn into your daily routine.

John Denton has joined Capital Title as Senior Vice- President for Business Development in the National Commercial Operations group.
A 1985 graduate of TCU, Denton lettered four years as a kicker at TCU from 1981-1984, concluding his career in the 1984 Bluebonnet Bowl. He served as an Associate Athletics Director at TCU from 2005 through 2022, providing leadership in several areas of the athletic department and raising more than $300 million for the rebuilding of TCU’s athletic facilities, scholarships and other critical needs. From 2023 – 2025, he served as Executive Director of the Flying T Club, TCU’s N-I-L collective.
A well-known broadcaster, Denton served on-air as a play-by-play voice and color analyst on the Horned Frogs Sports Network for 35 years, from which he retired after broadcasting the 2023 College Football Playoff National Championship game in Los Angeles.
A winner of the prestigious Lindsey Nelson National Outstanding Broadcaster Award, Denton’s also a twelve-time winner of the Best Play-by-Play Award from the Texas Associated Press.
He and wife, Linda, reside in Southlake and have been married for 32 years. They have two daughters, (both TCU graduates!), Erin Denton of Fort Worth and Meredith Denton of Dallas.
